    Trucker Essentials for Winter

There is a lot you need for your truck to be utterly comfortable. Kenworth seat covers keep you comfy on long rides while a mini fridge keeps your lunch nice and cool. However, you need plenty of other Iowa 80 semi truck accessories once winter comes. You do not want to be stuck out in the snow with absolutely nothing, so make sure you have the following with you.

    Tire Chains

You should look up what your route will be like ahead of time. In the event there will be snow, then you want to make sure you have chains to put over your tires. Ideally, you should purchase a set of chains that do not require you to have a chain tightener. You should just be able to apply them to your wheels on your own.

    LED Marker Lights

LED Marker lights for trucks are essentials during the winter, especially when night comes. You can accent your vehicle with a brilliant glow, increasing the likelihood of other drivers seeing you. They really come in handy when you need to pull off to the side of the road. They come in various colors, so you can emit whatever color light you like.

    Jumper Cables

Your battery dying is bad no matter where you are. However, when it is the middle of winter and you are miles away from the nearest town, it is bad. With jumper cables, you just need a Good Samaritan to pull off to the side of the road to give you a boost. As soon as you are able to, you need to swap out your old battery with a new one.

    Bag of Road Salt

When you park your truck, ice and snow may build up around the tires. To give you some much-needed traction, you can apply road salt or ice melt to the surrounding area. Sand and kitty litter can also work if you are in a pinch.

    Blankets, Food and Water

In the event your truck breaks down in the middle of a snowstorm, you may be stuck where you are for a while. You do not want to freeze in the cabin, so make sure you have extra clothing and a blanket. You also want plenty of food and water. It could be a while until you can reach a grocery store, and you want to remain hydrated.

    Flashlight and Extra Batteries

You may be able to work on your truck to get it back up-and-running when you are on the side of the road. Visibility can seriously be hampered when it is foggy or snowing out. You need a flashlight to see every area of your truck. It also does not hurt to have some spare batteries for your flashlight just in case.

You need to be ready for what winter brings, particularly if you will drive in an area that is prone to snowstorms. For the truckers of a business snow plowing company, keeping the above-mentioned essentials are part of their everyday routine. With some extra supplies along with your comfy Kenworth seat covers, you will have little to fear. You can purchase all of the supplemental accessories you need to drive with peace of mind.
