Factors to Consider Before Buying an In Wall Subwoofer from ELAC

Without a subwoofer, it is almost impossible to get that smooth, natural bass production. Subwoofers have become quite popular in theaters and hallways, both big and small. In wall subwoofer from ELAC, for instance, have become more competitive than the traditional-free standing models. While freeing up a lot of space, they blend well with any interior design. However, one should consider several factors before buying an in-wall subwoofer.

Here are some of the most critical factors:

    1. Size and kind of room

There’s no one size fits all when it comes to in-wall subwoofers. One should, therefore, consider the size of the room for this sub installation. Also, the kind of listening may differ from one place to another. For instance, one might prefer a low-key sound in the kitchen and the high-key sound in the dining room.

    1. The Size of the In-Wall Subwoofer

Size matters a lot when choosing an in-wall subwoofer because it has an impact on the quality of sound produced.  And so the larger the speaker, the cleaner and louder the quality of sound produced. The best results are mostly achieved at low volumes though this is not the case with small speakers. If a room measures more than 15 x 20 ft., an 8” speaker will be appropriate.

    1. Power Handling Capacity

A speaker that’s one’s desire should have a good power handling capacity. These speakers’ power handling capacity may have a minimum or maximum specification. If a user owns a 100-watt RMS receiver, a speaker with 20-100 watts recommended power suits them best.

    1. Frequency Response Specifications

The range of human hearing is 20 to 20,000 Hz. When talking about frequency response, it is crucial to have in mind the range a subwoofer can play. A speaker that has a frequency response of 50 to 20, 000 Hz, works well in a deeper and wider range base. It is, therefore, not advisable to go for a speaker with a frequency response of 65 to 20,000Hz.

    1. Installation

Some in-wall subwoofers have a complicated installation process, while others are easy to install. Buying those with complex installation instruments can give one a hard time to set up. It is, therefore, necessary to choose those with simple devices that are easy to install.

    1. Efficiency

To ensure the power sent to the amplifier is used effectively, one can make use of the swiveling tweeters to direct the sound of the speaker towards their preferred listening spot.

    Conclusion

A subwoofer makes it possible for one to listen to the smooth-sounding bass of music. When buying in-wall subwoofers, it’s essential to choose those which are easy to install, are efficient, sizable, and have excellent power handling capacities. Those with complex installation instructions could be difficult to set up. The place one wants to place their subwoofer also matters because it will determine the size of a speaker one purchases. One also needs to consider the frequency of the speaker to keep their ears from being damaged.
