    Perfect For Smoothie Prep

I have a smoothie at least once a day to make up for a meal. I used to hate this process when I had to blend things up on a daily basis. I started using my Cuisinart food processor once I discovered the ultimate smoothie hack. It is literally the best thing ever.

Before I really got into it, I realized I should probably replace my blades on my Cuisinart food processor. I knew that KitchenWorksUSA was a great place to get authentic Cuisinart DLC-7 parts and got busy. I knew I’d be putting this machine to serious work.

What I do is get the main components of my smoothie together one day, so whatever greens and fruit I want to add and I put them through the food processor until they are a consistency that I’m happy with. Crunchy bits of kale in my smoothies? No, thank you. Not something I enjoy.

I pulse them until they are good and smooth and add water as needed. Usually it’s not a lot, just enough to make the consistency what I prefer. I freeze them in the ice cube trays that are meant for larger ice cubes that go in a mixed drink, so they are a good size. They’re a perfect portion for what I make on a daily basis.

The night before I make the actual smoothie, I take one of the cubes out to defrost. In the morning I add them to a bottle and add some dairy free milk; usually almond or oat milk and I mix it with a milk frother or an immersion blender if it isn’t totally defrosted. Either one works pretty well to mix it all up, and boom- I’ve got a smoothie to take with me if need be. If it is in fact fully defrosted, I shake it up a bit and don’t necessarily need to be bothered with blending it all, as everything has already been blended beforehand.

It’s so easy and convenient for me to just get up and go with my smoothie. Long gone are the days of blending on a daily basis. It was such a mess between getting all the fruit out and cleaning it all up. I’m so glad those days are over. This alternative is so much easier.

I feel like I’d be so much more stressed out if I didn’t have my Cuisinart food processor, and that would partially defeat the purpose of making healthy smoothies. I’ve recommended this idea to so many of my friends who are also smoothie drinkers, and many have started to do the same. Everyone agrees that this is definitely the way to go!
