Sound Reception System This acoustic system is required for ships with a closed platform type.

    1. Sound Reception System

This allows in-cabin navigation officers to listen for sound signals (such as fog flutes or ship flutes) from other ships in the vicinity. It is mounted on the ship’s bridge equipment console and helps navigation officers to perform surveillance duties in accordance with Colreg 1972 or P2TL.

    2. Navigational Lights

All ships (large or small) are required to have navigation lights as part of the navigation system. This system was introduced in 1838 by the United States and then followed by Britain in 1849. In 1889, the International Maritime Conference was established by the United States to establish precise guidelines for preventing marine accidents. In 1897, this regulation was officially adopted internationally. Navigation lights are one of the most important navigational equipment needed for sailing on the high seas as they allow the ship itself to be clearly seen by other ships in the vicinity.

    3. Ship Whistle

Boat flutes are known as whistles/honks and are generally supplied in two types. One is wind operated and the other is electrically operated. The flute must operate manually and electrically from the bridge. Among the various instruments used in difficult navigation such as bad weather, fog, poor visibility, high traffic etc., the ship flute helps in alerting nearby ships. During an emergency, the flute is used to notify and alert the crew and other ships in the vicinity.

    4. Daylight Signalling Lamp

Is a light signaling device used for emergency signaling during the day (and can also be used at night). Like other emergency ship instruments, the energy source for the lights is not solely dependent on the ship’s main power. In addition, lampshades must be weather-resistant and water-resistant materials.

    5. Pilot Card

This is an informative booklet provided to ship pilots, consisting of dimensions, drafts, turning circles, maneuvers, propulsion equipment and a list of other ship navigation tools and instruments for safe maneuvering. Here if you need navigation system amnautical.com.
